Colonnade Arch (1)
This interesting formation lies above the huge Bowknot Bend of the Green River in the Keg Point area. Virtually unknown for many years, it has seen more visitation recently. This area is north of the Horseshoe Canyon Unit of Canyonlands N. P. The arch has five openings and is more like a cave with several openings rather than an arch. Since it is on the edge of a steep cliff, it is difficult for a photograph to show its complicated shape. This is a panorama view of the formation. Colonnade Arch (2) shows light through 2 of the openings, while Colonnade Arch (3) gives a feeling for the cave-like structure of the formation.
