Escalante Natural Bridge
Utah Rt. 12 between Escalante and Boulder is, in the author's opinion, the most scenic drive in the State. It is also the only highway which crosses the Escalante River. Park at this crossing and hike up-river about a mile and a half to the arch on the left. This hike needs to be taken when the River is at fairly low ebb, because it is necessary to wade the stream in several places. The opening has a span of 125 feet.
