From Boulder Town, drive east on the Burr Trail for 9 miles.
There is a great view as the road descends into a valley and
crosses The Gulch (a creek). The view also reveals the lower
end of Long Canyon. This canyon is 7 miles long and is
unusual in that it is a "canyon to nowhere". It continues to gain
altitude for all of its 7 mile length, and then just stops, dropping
steeply to a lower elevation. Just where the road enters the
canyon, look up and to the right for the arch. See Ron's photos at The Zenfolio Gallery.
