National Geographic Society felt they needed to re-name. They and the
government call it "La Gorce Arch". Before Lake Powell rose, one
could hike up Davis Gulch to the arch; but now a boat is required.
With the Lake at a very low level (2003) because of a prolonged
drought, there is a possibility that the original route may again be
available. The author will try to determine soon if this is true.
