Elephant Rock Arch
About 36 miles north of San Francisco is the town of Inverness. At 2 miles from town, turn right on the Pierce Point Road and park at 7 miles at the top end of a sharp right U-turn on a down-hill slope. There is a turnout at the upper end of a low guard rail. Hike SW a short distance to a catch pond and follow a trail maybe a half mile to the cliff edge. Elephant rock will be visible just off shore and photographed with a telephoto lens for best results. There is a trail down to the beach on a sloping hillside for a better view, but the rather vertical bottom may be too eroded by now. Elephant Cave/Tunnel is on the beach, though.
