Wild Horse Arch Alcoves
This arch is near the base of the San Rafael Reef west of the Goblin Valley Road. From I/S 70 west of Green River, Utah, go south on State Rt. 24. Turn west at mile marker 137 and turn left onto the Goblin Valley Rd. at 4.8 miles. Less than a mile down this road, a dirt road turns to the right. Take this road to its end and the two alcoves, the right one of which contains the arch, will be visible almost due west. The road ends on a low bluff overlooking a north- south running wash. Descend into this wash and follow it going south for a short distance and then look for a larger west-east running wash. Follow this wash west till some slickrock appears on the north side. Ascend this slickrock and continue on toward the alcoves as they again become visible. There are some widely spaced cairns leading to the alcoves if one happens to run across them.
