Lebanon - Balaa Pit
NABSQNO 36S 764601 3785071 Lebanon

The Balaa Pit (also known as Balouaa Balaa) is a triple natural bridge located by the tiny village of Balaa in the Tannourine area on the slopes of Mount Lebanon about 30 miles northeast of Beirut. The cavern that the three bridges span is reported to be about 800 feet deep. The middle bridge with the person standing on it has an estimated span of 80 feet. There is a waterfall flowing through the top bridge, which can barely be seen in the photo below. In and around Tannourine there are numerous remnants from pre-Roman, Roman and Byzantine times.
