St. Ole's Gate
NABSQNO 34V 386850 6424046 Sweden

St. Ole's Gate is a small but attractive arch that is one of the main attractions at Gamlahamn, on the west part of the small island of Faro, which is just north of the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea about 120 miles south of Stockholm, Sweden. Faro is a short free car ferry ride from the main island of Gotland. Gamlahamn used to be a medieval harbor before sea storms blocked the entrance, creating a tranquil lagoon. The arch has many other names such as "The Dog" due to its likeness to a canine when viewed from an angle. The arch has a span of about 4 feet and a height of about 6 feet. Photo by Ray Millar.
