Among the major arches in the
Escalante River drainage, this one has a relatively short
hike of between a mile and a half and two miles. It is also
one of the more attractive ones and is well worh the effort
to visit it. The opening has a height of 106 ft. and a span
of 90 ft. (note the author's figure standing in the opening).
The trailhead is about 47 miles down the Hole-in-the-Rock Rd
(see Metate Arch).
