Hawkeye Natural Bridge
Not a natural bridge but a great arch with a span of 150 ft. it is located NE of Navajo Mountain in a very remote area of the Navajo Nation. This area is located south of the San Juan Arm of Lake Powell. At 0.0 miles, turn north onto Navajo Rt. 16 from AZ Rt. 98; at 13.6 miles, the pavement ends; at 32.3 miles fork right (left goes to the Rainbow Lodge ruins); at 37.7 miles, pass the turnoff (to left) to the Navajo Mountain School; at 41.3 miles go straight ahead at the Rainbow City junction; at 42.6 miles turn right (left goes to Flying Eagle) onto a 4wd road. At 45.2 miles, pass through a gate ( if this gate is locked, it's a hike from here on unless arrangements can be made with a local Navajo to unlock it). At 47.2 miles, turn left and stop at 48.4 miles. Walk over the ridge to the arch.
