The Bottomless Pit is perched precariously above Twin Lakes on a rugged talus slope that must be close to 45 degrees. Twin Lakes is part of the Mammoth Lakes area. During ski season a dangerous, double black diamond ski route goes through the arch. It can be viewed from several points around the Twin Lakes area. Climbing the steep talus slope to the arch is not recommended.
