France - Aiguille Percee

Aiguille Percee ("Pierced Spire") is located in the French Alps in the ski resort of Tignes at an altitude of 9165 feet. It has an estimated height of 40 feet and during the winter it is possible to ski through it. It also makes an ideal summer hike destination from mid-July to late September. Going up takes two hours on a moderate trail that gains about 2200 feet. The arch is visible at the halfway point, at the top of the crest. The arch is cataloged as number FR-35.
