NABSQNO 49R-445500-3246500. Xian Ren Qiao is an alcove natural arch eroded through Devonian sandstone that has a very high quartz content. It is located in the Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area, about 25 kilometers north of the city of Zhangjiajie, in northern Hunan Province, China. The Wulingyuan area has been designated a natural world heritage site and has been developed for tourism. Xian Ren Qiao can be viewed from one of the many walking paths that lead to and through the spectacular scenery the area offers. However, hikers are no longer allowed to traverse the structure due to obvious safety concerns.

Xian Ren Qiao translates into English as both Fairy Bridge and Celestial Bridge. To avoid confusion with the Xian Ren Qiao in Guangxi Province (NABSQNO 48R-682110-2731570), we have chosen to refer to the arch documented on this page as Celestial Bridge, and to refer to the Xian Ren Qiao in Guangxi Province as Fairy Bridge. Celestial Bridge has also been known as Bridge of the Immortals.
