The arch is easily visible from public roads. Closer access requires permission of the land owner. Elephant Rock has historical significance. It served as a landmark to settlers and cattle drives during the mid 19th century. It was listed in the Vreeland catalog as number 23-49 with a reported span of 6 feet.
