Example Pothole Natural Arch

NABSQNO 12S-519586-4110574. Flying Eagle Arch is a young pothole natural arch eroded through Navajo sandstone. Since the pothole behind the arch is wider than the span of the arch, it is considered young. The arch is located west of Desha Canyon, a tributary of the San Juan River. Since it is located on the Navajo Nation, non-Navajos must obtain the services of a guide to visit the area. Be sure to also stop at nearby Hawkeye Natural Bridge.
